[Previous entry: "At LCA07 - Day 3"] [Next entry: "Big Day Out 2007"] As we were wandering through Sydney this afternoon, several UCCans and I dropped into UTS to look for ProgSoc, the student programmers' society. Although there was no-one there, we noticed a sign that announced their weekly get-together at 6pm.

At about that time, the ProgSoc webcam started showing signs of movement, so seven of us piled ourselves into cars and buses and headed for UTS. We talked our way past the security guard, and Nick, Cameron, Bernard, Mark and I knocked on the door of ProgSoc and invited ourselves in. Straight off, we started trying to help with booting Suns from CD, and playing with the immensely cool webcam. James and Davyd arrived shortly after and got right into the swing of things. The ProgSoc people showed us around their clubroom and facilities, and eventually we ordered pizza, and sat around talking, arguing, and laughing with the slightly bemused ProgSoc folks. They were very hospitable, especially given that we'd basically arrived unannounced and filled their clubroom with talkative, slightly deranged nerds.

We took our leave once the yawning became too obvious, but they wouldn't let us go without swapping blog addresses, us promising to send some of our awesome t-shirts, and giving us a club mug and a copy of the club's handbook to life, the University and everything, TFM (as in RTFM).

Thanks ProgSoc people (some of whom should hopefully see this) - we thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
